HOPE of Evansville is the sponsor and owner of Homes of Evansville, a low-income housing tax credit project that provides affordable housing to qualified households on a lease-purchase basis. These are 3 and 4 bedroom, 2 bath, energy-efficient and very attractive single-family homes located in the south section of Evansville adjacent to and east of the Haynie’s Corner Arts District.

Due to tax credit regulations the homes must remain for lease for a 15 year period, or until approximately 2028, at which time they can be sold to the current resident, if qualified, or to other interested qualified buyers. The beginning lease payments on the homes range from $256 to $797 per month, not including utilities. For a list of the addresses, see the NRP website.

The maximum income limits and the application are different for this program than HOPE’s other programs. There are ranges on the income limits for 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60% of Area Median Income.

The leasing and management office is located at 17 Washington Avenue.  You may come in to the office and pick up an application, or you may also call 812-602-1140.
